Certification of Automotive Parts in Brazil is mandatory and regulated by Inmetro.
Automotive Parts are certified by product family and the certification model adopted is 5.
Product family? What does it mean?
The criteria are described in the specific annex of each Automotive Part in Ordinance Inmetro No. 301/2011: Suspension Shock Absorbers, Electric Fuel Pump for Otto Cycle Engines, Horn Used in Motor Vehicles, Aluminum Alloy Pistons, Pins and Locking Rings (Retention), Piston Rings, Bearings and Lamps for Automotive Vehicles.
But what is certification model 5?
It is the model that defines how the conformity assessment system of the company and its products will be carried out. It includes the evaluation and approval of the Quality Management System and the Customer Service System of the supplier through audits and tests on samples that can be collected both in the factory and in the store.
